English League Two
Football Intelligence
All 12 matches for Saturday 12 September 2026, ranked from highest to lowest selected-team Football Intelligence Score.
How to read this report
FIS is not win probability. It measures contextual evidence relative to a team’s normal baseline. The 1X2 percentages come from a separate, heavily shrunk early-season Poisson baseline using the first five league results and home advantage. Scores are provisional because line-ups remain unconfirmed.

Walsall v Rochdale
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Walsall — Home win
1X2 baseline: 65% home · 21% draw · 15% away
Modal score: 2-0 · Context differential for selection: +17.4
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Walsall are unbeaten after five; Rochdale have lost four of five and the public backing of the coach signals pressure rather than a proven turnaround.
Adversarial check
Rochdale’s 3-0 win over Shrewsbury shows the downside of treating the poor overall start as deterministic.
FIS band: Research priority. Research priority 13.1/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Newport County v Fleetwood Town
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Fleetwood Town — Away win
1X2 baseline: 33% home · 26% draw · 41% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +17.4
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Fleetwood are sixth and unbeaten in four; Newport have one point from their last four and carry a less settled managerial backdrop.
Adversarial check
Newport won their opening home game 3-0 and Fleetwood’s advantage is based on a very short sample.
FIS band: Research priority. Research priority 13.1/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Barnet v Accrington Stanley
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Barnet — Home win
1X2 baseline: 60% home · 18% draw · 22% away
Modal score: 2-1 · Context differential for selection: +11.2
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Barnet remain unbeaten, sit third and have scored 12; Accrington have conceded in every league game. Home-market support agrees.
Adversarial check
Barnet have drawn three straight and conceded three at Chesterfield, so the favourite is less secure than the table gap suggests.
FIS band: Research priority. Research priority 8.4/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Grimsby Town v Bristol Rovers
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 12:30 UK
Model view
Bristol Rovers — Away win
1X2 baseline: 34% home · 24% draw · 42% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +11.2
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Bristol Rovers lead the division after four straight wins and have the strongest early results profile.
Adversarial check
Grimsby are unbeaten with four consecutive draws; the away side’s FIS edge is small and a draw is the main threat.
FIS band: Research priority. Research priority 8.4/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
York City v Swindon Town
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Swindon Town — Away win
1X2 baseline: 42% home · 24% draw · 34% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +1.2
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Swindon are second, have won two straight and Aaron Drinan is the league’s leading scorer; their contextual profile narrowly exceeds York’s home-market signal.
Adversarial check
York have lost only once and home advantage keeps this close; the external market leaning toward York may already contain information not captured by the five-game model.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 0.9/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Gillingham v Tranmere Rovers
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Tranmere Rovers — Away win
1X2 baseline: 34% home · 27% draw · 39% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +1.2
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Tranmere are unbeaten, sit fourth and have scored in every match; their broader context slightly outranks Gillingham’s home-market support.
Adversarial check
Gillingham are unbeaten in four and arrive from a 4-1 away win, so the tiny FIS gap is not a robust edge.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 0.9/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Shrewsbury Town v Northampton Town
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Northampton Town — Away win
1X2 baseline: 23% home · 32% draw · 45% away
Modal score: 0-1 · Context differential for selection: +8.8
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Shrewsbury are 23rd with a -8 goal difference; Northampton have kept three clean sheets in five and look better organised.
Adversarial check
Northampton have scored only three league goals, which makes a draw a major live outcome.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 6.6/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Crawley Town v Cheltenham Town
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 12:30 UK
Model view
Cheltenham Town — Away win
1X2 baseline: 35% home · 24% draw · 41% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +8.8
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Cheltenham are eighth, unbeaten in four, and have scored nine; Crawley have lost three of five and concede frequently.
Adversarial check
Crawley have home advantage and Cheltenham’s four-match unbeaten run includes three draws.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 6.6/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Oldham Athletic v Chesterfield
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Oldham Athletic — Home win
1X2 baseline: 50% home · 26% draw · 25% away
Modal score: 1-0 · Context differential for selection: +5.0
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Oldham have won their first two home league games, while Chesterfield have conceded in four straight.
Adversarial check
Chesterfield’s pre-season strength and 3-3 comeback-level output against Barnet make this volatile.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 3.8/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Rotherham United v Salford City
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Rotherham United — Home win
1X2 baseline: 44% home · 28% draw · 28% away
Modal score: 1-0 · Context differential for selection: +5.0
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Rotherham have the venue edge and public model support; Salford have lost three straight away in the cited trend set.
Adversarial check
Salford were a leading pre-season contender and both teams sit on six points, so the evidence is conflicted.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 3.8/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Colchester United v Crewe Alexandra
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Crewe Alexandra — Away win
1X2 baseline: 32% home · 29% draw · 39% away
Modal score: 1-1 · Context differential for selection: +1.3
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Crewe are seventh and have lost only once; that stable start narrowly exceeds Colchester’s home trend and current market lean.
Adversarial check
Colchester have won four of five at home across the cited trend set, while Crewe’s away record is weaker; the FIS gap is negligible.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 1.0/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Port Vale v Exeter City
Saturday 12 September 2026 · 15:00 UK
Model view
Exeter City — Away win
1X2 baseline: 27% home · 33% draw · 39% away
Modal score: 0-0 · Context differential for selection: +6.3
FIS comparison
Why it ranks here
Port Vale are the only winless side and bottom; Exeter have been defensively steadier and the external preview leans away.
Adversarial check
Exeter’s own attack is weak and their wider club backdrop was flagged pre-season, so this is not a confident away win.
FIS band: Neutral / mixed. Research priority 4.7/100. Availability held neutral because confirmed matchday squads were not available at the analysis timestamp.
Method, evidence and limitations
Strategy 5 implementation
Weights: Stakes 18%, Availability 22%, Recovery 15%, Tactical/Managerial Fit 15%, Club Environment 10%, Information Integrity 10%, Market Intelligence 10%. Each sub-score uses the strategy’s 0/25/50/75/100 anchors. Early-season incentives and recovery were neutral for every club; absence claims were also held neutral rather than guessed.
The statistical baseline uses goals scored and conceded in the five completed League Two fixtures, shrunk 50% toward a league-neutral 1.35 goals per team. A modest home multiplier is applied. This is deliberately conservative and is not presented as a calibrated betting edge.
The ranking is by the nominated team’s FIS, then absolute FIS differential, then baseline directional probability. Tied or near-tied scores should be treated as practically indistinguishable. “Home win” or “Away win” is a provisional model direction, not advice to bet.
